Materials & Process

The work is produced using dark and light coarse chamotte stoneware clays with high grog content. This provides structural stability, limits shrinkage, and generates a pronounced surface texture.

Each piece is fired multiple times in an electric kiln under oxidation conditions, with final firings reaching 1240 °C. Multi-stage firing allows for progressive surface development and controlled intervention between firings.

Glazes are formulated and tested in-house. While some glaze systems are stable and repeatable, others are intentionally selected for their variability. Certain glazes may be sensitive to application thickness, layering, surface texture, or firing history. This controlled acceptance of glaze instability is a deliberate choice and contributes to the singular character of each object.

All objects are hand-built using the coil construction methot, it allows precise control of form while ensuring that no two pieces are identical.
